Perfect World launched the Cryptic Studios developed Neverwinter: Avernus on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which is the continuation and conclusion of Neverwinter: Infernal Descent that launched on consoles earlier this year.
Neverwinter: Avernus sends players to the wastelands of Avernus, the first layer of the Nine Hells. While venturing, players will meet Lulu, a hollyphant, and the Archdevil Zarial’s old companion. Lulu offers to open the locked infernal puzzle box, but it seems that she has lost her memories. Now, players will need to restore Lulu’s memories by teaming up with Makes and Mahadi to fight against the hordes of demons that stand in their way.
Neverwinter: Infernal Descent was the first campaign in Neverwinter for level 80 characters. The update also has a new endgame dungeon and adventure zone set on Vallenhas Estate, which is chained to limbo. Players follow the tragic story of the Vallenhas family stronghold which brings a new series of adventures.
The update features Baldur’s Gate: Descent Into Avernus Storyline, which takes players through a new campaign as Vallenhas Manor has been ripped from Faerûn and pulled into Avernus, the first layer of the Nine Hells. In addition, players can play through Baldur’s Gate: Descent Into Avernus Campaign, which is the new challenging endgame for high-level characters.
Neverwinter is a free-to-play action MMORPG where players will explore dungeons and an open-world. The game features many areas and quest set in the Forgotten Realms, which includes Wizards of the Coast’s latest Dungeons & Dragons tabletop adventure, Baldur’s Gate: Descent Into Avernus.
