NEO: The World Ends Shows Off Stylish Combat in New Gameplay Video
Square Enix has shared some early preview gameplay with Japanese outlets showing off gameplay from, NEO: The World Ends With You.
The gameplay highlights a lot of what the developer has been releasing details on including character interactions, exploration, and combat. We also get to see Fret use his ability to remember things. Further, there seems to be a rhythm to battles that involve action-based timing. This looks exceptionally stylish, but we aren’t sure how it feels in execution.
The story of NEO: The World Ends With You takes place in Shibuya. However, the main protagonist, Rindo, felt like something was off, which leads him to witness a psychic battle in the center of the Scramble Crossing. This is when he’s introduced to the “Reapers’ Game.”
Sadly, this game comes with a few life-threatening rules: If you don’t win, you cease to exist. Now, Rindo and his friend Fret fight against other players to find a way home.
NEO: The World Ends With You is coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on July 27, 2021, and PC-via The Epic Games Store in Summer 2021.
