Nekopara Series Has Sold Over 3 Million Copies on Steam, You All Sure Love Cat-Girls

Neko Works announced that their catgirl visual novel series, Nekopara, has sold more than 3 million copies on Steam.

The series currently has three volumes, a prequel, and an “Extra” volume available that tell stand-alone stories surrounding a cafe owner who took in two stray catgirls, Chocola and Vanilla, and possibly ends up hooking up with them. Each volume introduces new characters and situations that are kept comedic and light-hearted with added bits of emotional romance that you’d expect.

The developer also shared that Nekopara Vol. 4 is in development, and they will release more information about the project soon.

It’s wild to think that a series about a catgirl cafe could gain such a following, but the developer truly understands their fans. Each entry of the series builds upon the themes of spending time with and learning about the characters who each have a unique personality.

Sure, there are definitely moments of hardcore romance here, but the overall tone of the visual novel is relatively light-hearted. I swear I’m writing this with a straight face.

There’s also an OVA anime based on Nekopara Extra in case playing the visual novel wasn’t enough. Also, there’s a 12 episode anime series that recently ended, which will definitely make you smile during each episode due to how adorable these characters are. The anime can be found streaming via Funimation.
