Visual Novel ‘Necrobarista’ Delayed to Complete Localization and QA

Route 59 Games announced that their cel-shaded visual novel Necrobarista will receive a slight delay, from its previously announced Q3 release date, which was a delay from its previously announced August 8 release date. It is unknown when exactly the title shall be released, but the official window is ‘soon’. So supporters and fans shouldn’t have long to wait.

The developers are working hard on getting the final build of the game ready, but seem to need more time to complete the localization of the 14 languages they plan to ship the game with. The team is also focused on addressing bugs and performance issues, due to the graphically complex nature of the game, they want players to have a positive experience. It was also stated even though this is their “crunch time” the producers are scolding those who are working after hours to make sure everyone is in a good mental state.

Also revealed is that the game will most likely not have a demo because of the extra development time that would take them.

In a statement to fans, the developer writes:

Speaking from the heart here, it’s been a long journey for all of us. A good chunk of the Route 59 team has been working towards this game release for five years at this point, and I don’t think any of us would have made it this far without the encouraging and gratifying groundswell of support from our little passionate fanbase. What I’m trying to say is that we appreciate you a whole lot, and every decision we make is in service of providing the best possible game for you at launch. Thank you for your patience. More soon.

Lastly, the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch ports of the game are scheduled to release in 2020.
