My Time at Portia Sequel ‘My Time at Sandrock’ Revealed With Kickstarter Details
Pathea Games have launched a Kickstarter for the sequel of My Time at Portia titled My Time at Sandrock to fund development for console and PC release.
The developer is seeking $100,000 to fund My Time at Sandrock to self-publish the game and add in an additional multiplayer system. Multiplayer will allow players to play with each other and go on adventures throughout the town, but it requires the team to hire more programmers. The campaign’s funds will be used to finish the game promptly; if it doesn’t succeed, the team still plans to release the game with a toned-down multiplayer experience.
My Time at Sandrock was supposed to be DLC for My Time at Portia, but the project became much bigger, and they decided to make it a full sequel. The game is still inspired by Dark Cloud 2 and the Harvest Moon series, but this time they aim to focus on the narrative and build out each NPC of the town. The game will feature a single-player focused campaign, but with multiplayer elements, they can invite players to their game.
During gameplay, players assume the role of a Builder that has just arrived at Sandrock, which is currently in a sad state. Players will aim to make it a thriving village by completing tasks, and the game will feature an ending. Additional gameplay tweaks have been added from My Time at Portia, so returning players will find gameplay implemented from feedback. The game will feature an action battle system along with the option to romance some of the NPCs.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the development and release of My Time at Sandrock, which is scheduled to release in Steam Early Access first in 2021.
