My Girlfriend is a Mermaid!? Gets Western Release Date on Nintendo Switch

Sekai Games announced that the TALEshop developed visual novel My Girlfriend is a Mermaid!? will launch on Nintendo Switch on February 28.

My Girlfriend is a Mermaid!? has the player go on an adventure that will bring them to a mysterious legend that will reunite him with his childhood friend, Ion, who evidently has turned into a mermaid. Throughout the story, players will meet other mermaids who require the player’s help. This will be a summer vacation that the protagonist won’t soon forget after discovering more about the legend of the mermaids and maybe along the way, finding love.

Gameplay in My Girlfriend is a Mermaid!? allows the player to make choices that will lead them through multiple routes and situations. The game also features voiced characters including the following talent:

Fuchigami Mai – voice actress for Ion is best known for her role in Girls und Panzer as Nishizumi Miho which she won the Synergy Award for at the 8th Seiyuu Awards in 2014. She also voiced Iona in Arpeggio of Blue Steel and Hojo Karen in THE [email protected] CINDERELLA GIRLS. Suzaki Aya, voice actress for Petakko is best known for her role in Tamako Marketas Kitashirakawa Tamako, Kayano Kaede in Assassination Classroom and Nitta Minami in THE [email protected] CINDERELLA GIRLS.

Author’s take: Sekai Project’s game division is going in head first with this awesomely insane concept of a visual novel and I’m completely on board. I’ll be interested to see how console players pick up these titles, but we’ll definitely continue to share news about them.
