Motorcycle Metroidvania ‘Laika: Aged Through Blood’ Announced for Consoles & PC; Features a “Badass Mother Coyote Rider” Seeking Vengeance

During the latest Future Games Show broadcast, Thunderful and Brainwash Games announced their Western-inspired action-adventure post-apocalyptic “motorvania” Laika: Aged Through Blood. As the genre implies, this is a metroidvania on a motorcycle.

Players will traverse a hand-drawn wasteland on a motorcycle with various special moves, like slow-motion shooting, and reloading achieved by performing a backflip. Further, skill-based power-ups can be discovered for greater combative variety. The protagonist, Laika, is a “badass mother coyote rider” on a path of vengeance to reclaim what her people have lost. The title embraces notions of coexistence as well as “learning and legacy that tells the tale of a tribe oppressed by vicious occupant forces.”

Ivan Papiol, Artist at Brainwash Gang, stated the following regarding this announcement:

“We’re really excited to re-introduce the world to Laika: Aged Through Blood with our new trailer that debuted at the Future Game Show. Our motorised take on the metroidvania formula makes it unlike any other game out there and in combination with our art style, story and characters, we hope players will fall in love with Laika like we all have!”
