New Mortal Kombat 1 Trailer Introduces the Lin Kuei
Warner Bros Games and NetherRealm Studios have shared a new trailer for their upcoming fighter Mortal Kombat 1. The Lin Kuei, a faction of assassins, is showcased this time around.
The game takes place after the ending of Mortal Kombat 11, where Liu Kang became a god and created a separate universe. This allows the team to reboot the series and change up some of the story elements.
The standard version is confirmed to cost $69.99, with a $109.99 Premium Edition, “including 1,250 Dragon Krystals (in-game currency), the Kombat Pack featuring Johnny Cage character skin, early access to six new playable characters (available post-launch), and five new Kameo Fighters (available post-launch).”
Lastly, a PlayStation and Xbox-only Collector’s Edition for $249.99 was announced, “including Premium Edition content and early access, along with a 16.5-inch Liu Kang sculpture designed by COARSE, and an inspired Liu Kang in-game character skin, three exclusive art prints, a steel case, and 1,450 additional Dragon Krystals (2,700 total).”
The latest Mortal Kombat release is Mortal Kombat 11, which has sold over 12 million units worldwide. Moreover, the Mortal Kombat franchise has sold over 73 million units worldwide. Several films, theatrical series, and animated movies have aided in defining Mortal Kombat as an undeniable icon of gaming culture.
