Mortal Kombat 1 Reveals Launch Trailer Ahead of Release Next Week

Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios revealed the official launch trailer for their upcoming fighting game Mortal Kombat 1 ahead of its release next week. Several characters and stages are showcased with a prominent and expected focus on unrelenting brutality.

The game takes place after the ending of Mortal Kombat 11, where Liu Kang became a god and created a separate universe. This allows the team to reboot the series and change up some of the story elements.

The standard version is confirmed to cost $69.99, with a $109.99 Premium Edition, “including 1,250 Dragon Krystals (in-game currency), the Kombat Pack featuring  Johnny Cage character skin, early access to six new playable characters (available post-launch), and five new Kameo Fighters (available post-launch).”

Lastly, a PlayStation and Xbox-only Collector’s Edition for $249.99 was previously announced, “including Premium Edition content and early access, along with a 16.5-inch Liu Kang sculpture designed by COARSE, and an inspired Liu Kang in-game character skin, three exclusive art prints, a steel case, and 1,450 additional Dragon Krystals (2,700 total).”
