Capcom has announced that the DLC expansion for Monster Hunter Rise, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, has now sold over 3 million units worldwide. This report follows the announcement of the DLC having sold over 2 million units worldwide earlier this month.
Capcom attributes this monumental success to extensive promotion, such as the Capcom Showcase and the free demo available on Nintendo Switch and PC. Further, a free update next month alongside additional updates are planned for more content.
Monster Hunter Rise is the latest entry of the action-RPG series, where players are tasked with taking on some of the most powerful monsters around. The game is set in the Kamura Village, home to many warriors who have developed unique and innovative hunting technologies. One of which is a special insect called a Wirebug. This allows players to grapple themselves in any direction, making it possible to scale cliffs and structures.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak introduces new monsters, locations, and hunting gameplay, similar in scope to Monster Hunter World’s Iceborne expansion, which added a considerable amount of content to the base game. It is now available for PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch.
