Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Free Title Update 4 Launching Next Week; Velkhana, New Event Quests, Cosmetics & More

During Capcom’s latest Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Digital Event, the company announced that Free Title Update 4 will launch on February 7, 2023.

The Frost Islands will see the arrival of the Elder Dragon, Velkhana, from Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. When battling this monster, it can spawn sizable ice pillars and even freeze unlucky hunters. Players will be able to face off against this creature at MR 10 minimum, and then the Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax starting at MR 160. New weapons and armor will become craftable from the materials dropped by the Velkhana, as well.

Moreover, the Qurio-curious will have new Anomaly Research, comprising Afflicted Chaotic Gore Magala joining the A8★ Quests, and the Anomaly Investigation cap rising to 220. Further, Elder Dragons will begin to appear from difficulty level 111 onward.

In the realm of Event Quests, two new Dual Threat quests featuring Seething Bazelgeuse and Chaotic Gore Magala will be implemented, alongside an Arena Quest with Furious Rajang and Scorned Magnamalo.

Lastly, new paid DLC will become buyable, consisting of layered armor for Lance Gunn and Ran Page drawn by Minoto. Additionally, the “Minoto” layered armor set alongside new gestures, poses, stickers, music, and hunter voices will join the fray, too.

Players can look forward to Free Title Update 5 launching in April 2023.
