Monster Hunter Rise Has Surpassed 5 Millions Units Sold Globally
Capcom announced that Monster Hunter Rise, which launched exclusively on Nintendo Switch on March 26, has sold 5 million units globally.
Monster Hunter Rise is the latest entry of the action-RPG series, where players are tasked with taking on some of the most powerful monsters around. The game is set in the Kamura Village, home to many warriors who have developed unique and innovative hunting technologies. One of which is a special insect called a Wirebug. This allows players to grapple themselves in any direction, making it possible to scale cliffs and structures.
The team is now looking forward to the release of Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, an RPG set in the universe but focusing on story elements. The publisher has also alluded to supporting the series outside of the world of video games, similar to the launch of the feature-length movie Monster Hunter. A few of us actually didn’t remember that this film launched, so we’re eager to see what the studio does.
