Monster Hunter Rise Sells 8 Million Units Worldwide Across PC & Switch
Capcom has announced that their latest entry in the Monster Hunter franchise, Monster Hunter Rise, has sold over 8 million units worldwide across the Nintendo Switch and PC platforms. The company attributes this growth to the game’s recent Steam release.
Monster Hunter Rise is the latest entry of the action-RPG series, where players are tasked with taking on some of the most powerful monsters around. The game is set in the Kamura Village, home to many warriors who have developed unique and innovative hunting technologies. One of which is a special insect called a Wirebug. This allows players to grapple themselves in any direction, making it possible to scale cliffs and structures.
The Sunbreak expansion was announced during a Nintendo Direct and will provide a plethora of content to all players across both Switch and PC in Summer 2022. This release is being said to introduce new monsters, locations, and hunting gameplay, similar in scope to Monster Hunter World’s Iceborne expansion, which added a considerable amount of content to the base game.
A demo for Monster Hunter Rise is currently available for PC via Steam.
