Monster Hunter Rise Announced for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X|S & Game Pass January 2023; Bonuses & DLC Detailed
Capcom has announced that the latest entry in the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Rise, will launch for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, Game Pass, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 on January 20, 2023. Additionally, the Sunbreak DLC will arrive during Spring 2023.
The game’s Deluxe Edition shall comprise the following:
- “Kamurai” – Hunter Layered Armored Set
- “Shuriken Collar” – Palamute Layered Armor Piece
- “Fish Collar” – Palico Layered Armor Piece
- 4 Jump Gestures
- “Samurai” Pose Set
- “Kabuki” Face Paint
- “Izuchi Tail” Hairstyle
Further, pre-purchase bonuses are listed below:
- Palamute Retriever Costume – Layered Armor
- Palico Forest Cat Costume – Layered Armor
- Novice Talisman – For Early Game Assistance
Free DLC will arrive with the game, comprising the “Guild Cross” Armor Set and Legacy Talisman to aid beginner players. 4K 60 FPS and 1080p 120 FPS will be possible options on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. 3D audio will be implemented for the aforementioned platforms, Xbox Series S and Windows as well. Exclusive to the PlayStation 5 version, Adaptive Triggers will be supported.
The game’s official website has confirmed additional information and features, such as the Black & White, Sepia, Japanese-style, Cinematic, and Warring Lands-style filters being included.
Unfortunately, cross-saves and cross-play will not be supported, though PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players will be able to match with each other for multiplayer.
UPDATE 12/5/2022: In a statement to Gematsu, releases for these platforms will be digital-only, with no physical versions planned.

Monster Hunter Rise is the latest entry of the action-RPG series, where players are tasked with taking on some of the most powerful monsters around. The game is set in the Kamura Village, home to many warriors who have developed unique and innovative hunting technologies. One of which is a special insect called a Wirebug. This allows players to grapple themselves in any direction, making it possible to scale cliffs and structures.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak introduces new monsters, locations, and hunting gameplay, similar in scope to Monster Hunter World’s Iceborne expansion, which added a considerable amount of content to the base game. It is now available for PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch.
