Capcom has shared a video message from the producer of the Monster Hunter series, Ryozo Tsujimoto, informing fans of what developments they can expect throughout 2024 while also reflecting on the franchise’s accomplishments for its 20th anniversary.

The most significant incoming development is, of course, Monster Hunter Wilds, the next mainline entry. As previously announced, the team is working hard on the title ahead of its eventual 2025 release, and the next planned announcement for it will occur in the Summer of this year.

Moving on, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Monster Hunter franchise, Capcom held a vote with “Hunter’s Choice – Top Monster” to decide the community’s number one monster from all 229, counting previous generations. The results of the vote are planned to be unveiled in March 2024. Further, a new illustration featuring the top three voted monsters will also be revealed in the same month. The official Monster Hunter 20th anniversary website will be updated with further festive information.

Monster Hunter: World and Monster Hunter: Rise have been confirmed to have sold 23 million units and 13 million units worldwide, respectively. Further, the mobile game Monster Hunter Now has achieved over ten million downloads following its September 2023 launch.

Monster Hunter Wilds will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in 2025.
