Happinet Corporation and developer Lights-Interactive have announced that 3D action-adventure game Mononoke No Kuni will appear at BitSummit 2026 with a brand-new playable demo.

The demo will be available from May 22 through May 24 at both the Lights-Interactive and Happinet booths during BitSummit PUNCH at Miyako Messe in Kyoto, Japan.

The updated demo includes the game’s prologue and first chapter and introduces several improvements since its previous public showing at the Tokyo Game Show 2025.

New additions include a free camera system, rebuilt environments, expanded exploration mechanics, progression systems, and mini-games involving the protagonist’s Shiba Inu companion, Musashi.

Mononoke No Kuni follows protagonist Taiki and his dog Musashi as they travel through a yokai-filled realm inspired by Japanese folklore in search of a way to save Musashi after his death. The gameplay comprises parrying, exploration, mini-games, and interactions with various mononoke characters.

During combat, players can deflect attacks and projectiles while upgrading abilities and working together with Musashi for buffs and healing support.

Mononoke No Kuni is currently in development for PC via Steam and is planned to launch in Fall 2026 under the Happinet Indie Collection label.

The game will support more than 20 languages at release, including English, Japanese, Chinese (traditional and simplified), Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, German, French, and Spanish.
