Dungeon RPG ‘Mon-Yu’ Gets September Release Date and New Details in Trailer

Aksys Games announced that Experience-developed dungeon-crawler RPG Mon-Yu will launch on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on September 21, 2023.

The publisher also highlighted that during gameplay, players can choose from eight different classes to build their dungeon-crawling party. Further, players may recognize some characters from other Experience games, such as Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi, Spirit Hunter: Death Mark, Spirit Hunter: NG, and more. While the characters won’t have an impact on the story, they are available as party member avatars.

There are three different modes to choose from, Carefree, Standard, and Challenging. Depending on your skills in the genre, there’s something for any skill level.

Similar to other Experience-developed dungeon-crawlers, players will build out a party of characters that range across several job classes. Currently, the world is in peril and requires their help to defeat the seven demon kings. The narrative is reminiscent of other titles from the team, but the art style is wildly different. This title is directed by Motoyo Ataka, with Naoaki Jimbo providing compositional work.

The visual style for the game includes chibi characters who are rather cute for being fierce warriors. Players will navigate colorful dungeons and fight groups of monsters. The systems of the game allow up to six character parties, but players are able to choose the turn order in which actions are taken to plan out a strategy against the enemy. Items and spells will also be able to cause some damage alongside special attacks. Players can further customize characters to make them stronger, which is needed because the game requires you to be strong for the challenging boss encounters.
