Mobile BL Game ‘NU:Carnival’ Reveals Yakumo’s Voice In New Trailer
Taiwanese developer Infinity Alpha and co-developer/publisher SGArts have shared a new video for NU:Carnival presenting one of Eiden’s clan members, Yakumo. The BL game will be released for mobile systems through EROLABS in the first quarter of 2022 with English subtitles. It’s currently in a pre-registration campaign, and players will receive ten free summons thanks to having surpassed 50,000 registered accounts so far.
NU:Carnival is a fantasy RPG set on a mysterious land called Klein Continent. The region has five territories, each of which represents an elemental force. Klein Continent once suffered due to the influence of chaotic elemental spirits. Back in the day, a legendary sorcerer called Huey was built altars with gemstones to control and keep these powers sealed away.
His clan members were then responsible for maintaining the altars over the years. However, Huey suddenly disappeared 20 years ago, and world harmony quickly disintegrated. Natural disasters became more common, monsters showed up all over the land, and the Dead Zone territory started spreading over the five elemental areas.
To save the world, two familiars summoned a man from another world, a person they recognized as Huey’s descendant. Players will now have to do their best to protect the Klein Continent and bring harmony to the world once again. To restore the world, they must get down and dirty with other characters. It’s the old eroge excuse of bodily fluids with magical properties we all know and love.
Yakumo is a descendant of a legendary serpent, inheriting great powers from it. He is usually very kindhearted and polite but when he gets angry, he can get fearsome. Raised by an elderly couple who found them all alone, he now wishes to become stronger so he can protect the protagonist, Eiden, and never be alone again. His voice actor is Manaka Sawa, who also voiced Dramatical Murder‘s Clear.
Before Yakumo’s video, the companies had also shared a trailer for the protagonist, Eiden, who’s voiced by Netoru Irakusa (Room No.9‘s Seiji Azumi). He works at a sex toy company designing products and has a very laid-back attitude towards relationships. Once Eiden hit puberty, he figured out he was gay, and now he’s pretty open-minded about his own fantasies, being lewd and an unabashedly pervy switch.
One day, while working hard overtime, he found a gemstone fragment from a client. Suddenly he’s thrust into a parallel world where people believe him to be a descendant of Huey, the hero of yore. Now he must gather elemental gemstones to protect the world from the mayhem that’s coming back. However, that’s no reason for him to not have fun with some men along the way.
