Mickey’s Keyblade From Kingdom Hearts Appears In New Disney+ Short
A recent Mickey Mouse-themed short on Disney+ titled “The Wonderful Spring of Mickey Mouse” includes a neat easter egg for Kingdom Hearts fans. Around the 17:43 mark of the episode, viewers can see Minnie holding a box containing numerous items, but most notably, Kingdom Key D, which is one of Mickey’s Keyblades throughout the Kingdom Hearts series until Kingdom Hearts III. This reference is significant because this is the most overt recognition Kingdom Hearts has received from Disney in any of its visual media. With the franchise’s growing popularity, it entering its second phase, and the overwhelming amount of game copies sold, it’s sensical for Disney to further acknowledge the titles. I’m looking forward to future occurrences.
