Metroid Dread Adds Rookie & Dread Mode Today; More Updates Later This year

Nintendo has announced some support for Metroid Dread coming in the form of Dread and Rookie mode. To start, Dread Mode is a difficulty setting that punishes the player for any little mistake. In this mode, a single hit is enough to wipe Samus off the face of the earth. They are intended for those looking to add more challenge to the game and should not be attempted by the faint of heart.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Rookie Mode gives the player enhanced recovery, ensuring that mistakes are less costly. No matter what mode you play on, these added difficulty settings should allow players to tailor their experience to suit their needs. Nintendo also Announced a Boss Rush mode to come in April 2022.

Dread and Rookie Mode will be added to the main game and the demo later today. As always, if you missed it, check out the trailer below and make sure to keep up on all the latest news here at Noisy Pixel.
