Merchandise Producer Pin Box Announces Official Partnership With Developer WayForward

Merchandise producer Pin Box has announced that they have entered an official partnership with beloved video game developer WayForward, primarily known for their work on the River City and Shantae franchises.

As their name implies, Pin Box is known for creating and shipping qualitative pins, though they have dabbled in apparel. They are most recently known for their numerous pins of characters from the Ys and Trails franchise, with new products being consistently produced and announced. This new partnership is an ambitious yet welcome step forward for the company. It’s safe to expect some adorable pins of Shantae and the myriad of other endearing characters the series boasts.

Speaking of developer WayForward, River City Girls 2 will release for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in Summer 2022.

The original River City Girls tells the story of Kyoko and Misako, two high-schoolers who know a thing or two about defending themselves as they explore the six regions of River City to rescue their kidnapped boyfriends, who happen to Kunio and Riki. Players will utilize the game’s combo mechanics, including counters, throws, and special attacks as they fight their way through the streets. They’ll also be able to interact with NPCs, which includes guest stars from previous River City titles.
