Melty Blood: Type Lumina Gets A New Trailer Showing Shiki Tohno in Action
Type-Moon has shared a new trailer for the 2D fighting game Melty Blood: Type Lumina. It shows some gameplay from the perspective of Tsukihime protagonist, Shiki Tohno.
Melty Blood is a fighting game series that started as a doujin game back in 2002. It’s developed as a collaboration between Type-Moon (Tsukihime, Fate/Stay Night) and French-Bread (Under Night In-Birth, Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax).
Melty Blood: Type Lumina is the newest game in the series and it is based on the alternate retelling of Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon. As such, the game will also be a reboot for the fighting series.
10 characters are expected for the game’s roster, including Shiki Tohno, Arcueid Brunestud, Akiha Tohno, Ciel, Hisui and Kohaku. The remaining four are yet to be revealed.
The new battle preview shows how Shiki Tohno, the high schol student with the powers of the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. He shows his skills with his trusty knife against the Tohno family maid Hisui.
According to the video description, he’s a standard character who should be easy to use. It also mentions his special move using the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception is unguardable.
Melty Blood: Type Lumina will be released worldwide for PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch on September 30, 2021. Delightworks, the developer of Fate/Grand Order, is the game’s publisher.
