Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Launching April 2023; Pre-Orders Available
Capcom has shared the second official trailer for the upcoming Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, announcing that it will launch for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on April 14, 2023.
Further, private and public matching for net battles, chip, style, and program trading, plus library and record comparisons, were detailed. Lastly, pre-orders were announced to now be open.
Capcom has confirmed that volumes 1 and 2 of the collections will be on a single game card/disc. Additionally, they note that “if all ten titles were combined into one package for the retail release, they’d be recognized as different games from the individual volumes. This would affect online functions, so it was necessary to keep the retail releases as Vol. 1 and Vol. 2.”
The music bug from beating Mega Man Battle Network 6 has been corrected. The releases are based on the original Japanese versions, with the code having been rewritten for this upcoming launch.
The MegaMan.EXE model was created with aid from the Mega Man Star Force series and Mega Man 11 staff, with players able to obtain the “Hub Style” skin in Vol. 1 and the “Dark MegaMan” skin in Vol. 2 if they pre-ordered the digital or physical version. They are solely cosmetic.
Unique chips previously only available at Japan special events will be included alongside all download chips from the original versions of the games.
“Seasons 1 and 2 of the MegaMan NT Warrior animated series will be freely re-released on the Capcom USA Twitch channel and uploaded to the Mega Man YouTube channel in early 2023.”
