Mech SRPG ‘Relayer’ Provides Extended Look at Gameplay in New Trailer
Clouded Leopard Entertainment and Kadokawa Games released new gameplay from the simulation RPG Relayer coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on February 17, 2022, in Japan. It’s been revealed that the game will come west, but the release date has not been confirmed to us. Still, the Japanese release will support English text.
The trailer highlights new gameplay and introduces viewers to the various systems. Further, we get a chance to preview the mecha customization and different types of damages that they can do in battle.
Relayer takes place in the year 2049 where mankind has just met intelligent life: the Relayers. Further, they have also discovered an ancient civilization known as the Starchildren, who have granted humans unique powers. Fast forward to 2051; two young women cross paths in the colony of Artemis located on the surface of the Moon. This is where the adventure begins.
Relayer will take players across the Milky Way. Humanity’s existence is threatened by what is known as Relayers, but we have a way of fighting back, the Starchildren.
During gameplay, players will lead troops to battle during turn-based missions. By controlling mech units, players have 4 different types of spacecraft Starchildren at the control, Assualt, Sniper, Tank, and Scout.
Each type’s attack range and weaponry vary, so players will be required to position themselves according to the unique battle situation. Players can also employ various combat strategies, such as using “hate” to draw the enemy’s attention, allowing certain allies to act as decoys, and calling upon allies to push the enemy back.
