Marvel’s Midnight Suns Delayed To Unknown Date Before March 2023

Take-Two Interactive recently released its latest earnings report, detailing expected financial matters. However, what is of the utmost significance is that the upcoming tactical RPG, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, has been delayed to Fiscal Year 2023. The title was previously confirmed to launch on October 7, 2022, following its initial delay. Fiscal Year 2023 means sometime before March 2023.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick stated the following via IGN’s coverage:

“[This second delay] was due to a search for quality, and a great deal of confidence that we have a wonderful title on our hands and we want to make sure it’s as good as it can possibly be.” When asked if there was any concern that Midnight Suns would dip out of the fiscal year a second time (aka, get delayed a third time) he replied, “I’m not concerned about that.”

The publisher also generally noted this decision was “to ensure the teams at Firaxis Games and 2K deliver the best possible experience for our fans.”

The game’s official YouTube channel has been publishing weekly uploads about the extensive cast, discussing their unique gameplay utilities and tangled histories. We have previously provided coverage for Captain America, Spider-Man, and Iron Man. The channel’s most recent uploads include Doctor Strange and Captain Marvel insights.

To be completely honest, I’ve been a fan of what has been shown so far, so I’m hoping this delay doesn’t dramatically alter the game’s DNA. Regardless, we’ll have to wait and find out.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns has players assume the role of “The Hunter,” a customizable superhero who joins the crew. Further, players can play as other heroes, including Iron Man, Wolverine, Captain America, Blade, and more. Combat is turn-based, borrowing elements of the developer’s XCOM series, where players will guide units through environments to take down enemies.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is set to release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
