Marvel’s Avengers Ending Support September 2023; Digital Purchase Options Will be Removed

Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have announced that following Marvel’s Avengers version 2.8 update on March 31, 2023, the game will no longer receive any new content and features. Further, all official support will cease on September 30, 2023.

However, single-player and multiplayer will be fully playable regardless of these changes, with the latter still requiring Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus. Additionally, after the 2.8 update, players will gain access to all Marketplace items.

Unfortunately, the game will no longer be digitally purchasable from September 30, 2023, onward, with prospective players’ only option being pre-owned physical copies. Thankfully, the aforementioned Marketplace cosmetics will be obtainable regardless of when one has received the title. Spider-Man is also clarified to be exclusive to PlayStation platforms.

Moreover, Credits will be converted into the following in-game resources depending on the amount held:

Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor just so happen to be unveiling an Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco as well as their own helicarrier-powered energy source.

However, the celebration doesn’t last long when an accident strikes and the Avengers Disband. Five years later, in a time when Super Heroes are outlawed, Earth must call upon these heroes to help them against approaching evil.

Marvel’s Avengers is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
