Psychological Thriller ‘Martha is Dead’ Gets Release Date in Creepy Gameplay Trailer

Publisher Wired Productions and indie Italian studio LKA announced that Martha is Dead will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC-via Steam on February 24, 2022.

The publisher revealed a new trailer that shows some of the creepy interactions in the game. Further, we get a look at the voice-over direction, which ups the tension that the game is set to provide.

Martha is Dead takes place in the Italian countryside while the Allied and Axis forces battle it out. A young woman named Martha has drowned in a nearby lake, and her body lies on the shores. Dealing with this loss, Martha’s twin sister must not only endure the grief of having lost a loved one but must also face the horrors of war head-on.

When it comes to the setting, the Founder & Director of LKA shares, “The setting has always been an incredibly important part of Martha Is Dead, Italy in 1944 was a country paralyzed by panic and paranoia. With the Germans occupying the north as the Allies liberated the south, loyalties were strained as the nation quite literally split in two.

Martha is Dead was first announced in 2019 but has been delayed to its current release window. The developer behind The Town of Light is creating an atmospheric horror adventure for players to immerse themselves in, which they hope to get right.
