Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope Launches Free Demo & First DLC, “The Tower of Doooom”

Ubisoft and Nintendo have announced that their tactical RPG, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, now has a free demo available on the Switch eShop. Prospective purchasers can experience the entirety of the prologue and some of the first full planet across an estimated two hours of playtime.

Additionally, “The Tower of Doooom” DLC is now available, which Season Pass owners can access automatically. Mario, Rabid Peach, and company encounter Madame Bwahstrella, the landlady of a mysterious tower. She asks the party to contain Cursa’s minions and save Spawny, her friend trapped within the structure.

Battles here are procedurally generated. When starting, players will have four characters and Sparks randomly picked from their roster, with this team needing to be upgraded and built as progress is made. Cosmetic rewards will also be granted upon breakthroughs.

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is the sequel to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, but it can be enjoyed entirely standalone since their narratives are not all that prominent. Combat has received a significant shakeup, abolishing the tile-based system of the debut entry and instead allowing for free movement within a limited range. Further, there is far more customization, and world map exploration has received a drastic overhaul, truly making for a stellar sequel.

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is now available for Nintendo Switch.
