Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope Announced but Even My Mom Knew it Was Coming Due to the Leak

Ubisoft officially announced a sequel to Mario Rabbids during their presentation at E3 titled Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope for Nintendo Switch. This title looks to return to the strategic and tactical gameplay of the original along with the odd pairings of Rabbids and Mario Characters. However, the Nintendo site had previously posted the store page before removing it.

New characters will Rabbid’s Rosalina, and players will travel through the entire galaxy. The villain, named Cursa, is said to be tougher than anything they’ve faced. Luckily, they have a new ally known as The Sparks, which gives them new powers. Returning are three character parties and enhanced exploration, but it keeps its strategic systems.

Mario + Rabbids originally released in 2017 with some general surprise by Nintendo’s Mario joining Ubisoft’s Rabbids. The title came early in the Nintendo Switch’s lifespan and was generally well-received.

Gameplay involves a tactical turn-based strategy. The player moves their three-character team along a battlefield grid to fight against several quirky enemies. While you had the choice of both Mario and Rabbid characters you were required to have at least one Rabbid character in each team.

With that said, Rabbid characters assume the garb of various Mario characters becoming zany exaggerated versions of the Nintendo properties. Each character you choose has different weapons and abilities you can use to your strategic advantage and gives the player some variety to their gameplay. In-between battlefield sections teams can explore the lands in which each battle takes place to uncover secrets along the way.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is set to release on Nintendo Switch in 2022.
