MMORPG ‘MapleStory 2’ Launches Awakening Update With New Character and Level Cap Increase
Nexon launched a new update for the MMORPG MapleStory 2, available now on Nexon Launcher and Steam.
Titled Awakening Update, players will find a handful of various new features added to the game, which comes after the most recent Project New Leaf update where developers implemented game improvements based on community feedback.
First off, the update rolls out the new melee-focused Striker class, who uses a combination of kicks and punches to take out enemies. All players will receive a free character slot to begin using Striker with the update. Additionally, the level cap has been increased from 60 to 70 so players can become even stronger. Rank 2 job skills are now open to all players to expand the experience of all classes.
However, with characters becoming even stronger, players can expect to face off against more difficult foes. Players will find new Hard Dungeons and Choas Raids, both in Normal and Hard variants. The update adds six new Hard Dungeons to gives players the chance to earn Frontier, Tidemaster, and Demonwing epic gear sets. The Chaos Raids have players challenge Pink Beat for the first time in MapleStory 2 for legendary gear sets.
The update also opens up Eye of Lapenta, a new area with its own storyline where players will fight through four dungeons that can be more challenging than Chaos Raids. The new area introduces Lapenshards, a unique gem that adds a new set of passive and active skills for players to customize.
Players who log in before June 26 will receive a Striker Daily Wonder on the first characters they log in. Additional log-in bonuses are also available.
