Rhythm Platformer ‘Mad Rat Dead’ Launches Free Demo on PS4 and Switch

NIS America announced that a free demo of the rhythm platformer Mad Rat Dead is available now on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, ahead of the full release on October 30 in North America and Europe.

The demo allows players to play through the first few stages across multiple difficulties. The publisher has also announced that players can participate in a contest where they’ll need to get an S+ rank on each of the levels in the demo while on Hard mode to receive special prizes up to a limited edition of the game.

Mad Rat Dead is a rhythm platformer directed by Yu Mizokami, known for Yomawari: Night Alone and Yomawari: Midnight Shadows. The game features the character, Mad Rat, who has been given the chance to fulfill his dream. Throughout the game, the player must keep his heart pumping in time with the music to clear stages within a time limit.

In the event that he doesn’t, he will die, but at least he got to hear some catchy tunes before his end. The game is a lot like the action film Crank where the character needs to keep his heart rate up in order to survive.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the game’s development and any new information provided by the publisher.
