Yoshimi Yasuda, the producer of the upcoming Lollipop Chainsaw remake, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, has confirmed via a tweet that the game will feature an uncensored costume for the protagonist, Juliet Starling.
Yasuda did not go into exact detail about what this costume will comprise, but it’s relieving to see that fans of the original title won’t receive a toned-down experience. Well, it’s too soon to say that, admittedly, but this is promising news, regardless.
The following image was shared with Yasuda’s tweet.
Previously, censorship was addressed as a prominent topic of concern amongst fans. Yasuda did not confirm nor deny whether it will occur, as conversations with platform holders did not happen. The specific wording used was that negotiation will be done “so that the game will be as close to the original version as possible.”
This remake will aim to be faithful to the original except with more realistic graphics thanks to next-gen hardware. This title aims to make it possible for users to play the game easily. A remastered version would have been ideal, but 16 licensed songs were removed and were integral to the game’s tone, so this remake is being developed with the intention of being as close to a remaster as possible. Additionally, the story has been confirmed to be unchanged.
We’ll be sure to keep you all updated on the news about Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, such as an official trailer, specific release timing, planned platforms, and more.
