Steamy Horror Game ‘Livestream 2: Escape from Togaezuka Happy Place’ Coming to Switch Next Month; Steam Later This Year

qureate has announced their next game is Livestream 2: Escape from Togaezuka Happy Place, a sequel to their 2021 horror game Livestream: Escape from Hotel Izanami. Livestream 2 will be available on Switch on September 21, 2023. A PC edition was also announced for a Fall 2023 release window and it’s already possible to wishlist it on Steam.

Just like the original game, Livestream 2 is a 2D survival horror action adventure game that tells the story of three streamer girls going to an abandoned area. While the first game featured a hotel area, this time we get to explore a shopping mall called Togaezuka Happy Place.

It’s up to the player to try to escape the place alive, and a mysterious monkey mascot shows up as a concrete threat from time to time. Getting out isn’t just a matter of moving back to a starting point, as players get stuck in the mall and have to solve puzzles using clues and items found by searching every nook and cranny of the area.

The three main characters are Himari Aitsuki (Voice: Lynn), Aina Hiiragi (Voice: Mano Ayumi), and Miyabi Himemiya (Voice: Nozomi Yamamoto). The character designer is Waon Inui (beat refle, Prison Princess, and other qureate titles), and the story is written by Takayoshi Muto. The game is codeveloped by qureate and Orgesta, who were also involved in the original Livestream, beat refle, and Love on Leave.
