Tokyo Otaku Mode announced their plans to assist publishing of the newly revealed UNIVRS developed VR title, Little Witch Academia – VR Broom Racing.
Based on the popular anime series from studio TRIGGER, Little Witch Academia – VR Broom Racing has the players because of a character in the game where they can fly around the sky on a broom and race using magic. The game has been developed using UNIVRS’s unique anti-motion sickness technology to reduce the VR motion sickness experienced by players and make them feel like they are really playing through the air.
Little Witch Academia – VR Broom Racing is targeting a April 2020 release, but the team has also revealed a Kickstarter project that will help with development and promotional funds. The campaign will launch on July 3 and last 45 days. Backers will be able to select tiers that include the game as well as limited in-game items.
Additionally, the team is planning on showing more about the game during Anime Expo 2019. On July 4, the team will host a panel at 12 pm in room LP3 (408 AB). There, players will be able to hear what director Junichi Yamamoto has to say about the project.
Little Witch Academia – VR Broom Racing is a tentative title for the upcoming game. Platformers have not been revealed.
More information will come once the project launches. We’ll also be sure to attend the panel during Anime Expo 2019 and deliver the news to fans that come out of it.
