Little Witch Academia: VR Broom Racing Available Now on Oculus Quest

Univrs has finally launched their broom racing VR title Little Witch Academia: VR Broom Racing on Oculus Quest and will be playable on the Oculus Quest 2. The game is planned to release on PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, and SteamVR in early 2021.

Little Witch Academia: VR Broom Racing has been developed for Oculus Quest 2 to take advantage of it’s higher resolution 1832×1920 per-eye resolution. The team also used it’s hardware to produce more objects and additional visual effects on the screen.

During gameplay, players will create their own avatar and hang out right the other Little Witch Academia characters through Bonding Races. There is also a multiplayer mode where players will be able to race against others online. During a race, use Magic Energy, increase speed as they fly, and attack other racers while being conscious of their stamina. The developers stated the game is made simple and fun and compared it to Mario Kart.

Little Witch Academia: VR Broom Racing is being developed to limit motion sickness in VR. Through its development, the company has tried many iterations of their tech but still got sick. However, they finally found the answer, and it deals with making the player move while in VR, which frees their mind and makes motion sickness a thing of the past. This involves moving the player using their hands and body more during gameplay.
