Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games have shared a new video for their upcoming horror adventure, Little Nightmares III, featuring producer Coralie Feniello.
Alongside thanking fans for their excitement and support, she also answers several questions. The game’s place in the overall timeline has not yet been elucidated, with Feniello encouraging theories and discussion post-launch. However, she also emphasizes that this is a standalone experience that does not require the previous games, even though there are some secrets and nods showcasing interconnectivity.
For the co-op, players will be able to invite people from their friend list even if they’re not part of the same console generation, meaning that PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 users can interact, as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The Friends Pass feature will be implemented, too, letting owners of the title play with a friend who doesn’t own the game. Voice chat will not be available, but you’ll be able to call the other player over in-game via a dedicated button.
Multiple save slots and a hand-holding button have also been confirmed.
Little Nightmares III will feature single-player and online co-op thanks to the inclusion of two playable characters, Low and Alone. They are trapped in a place called the Spiral, and they will have to escape all manner of threats and delusions there.
