In a recent exclusive interview with Automaton Media, the director of Ryu ga Gotoku Studio, Masayoshi Yokoyama, was interviewed in regards to the amount of content that players can expect in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, as well as a question on whether the title will ever be coming to XBOX Game Pass. In response to the latter, the director said the following:
Interviewer: […] Can people expect Infinite Wealth to be available via Game Pass?
Yokoyama: At the moment, there are no plans for Infinite Wealth to come to Game Pass.
Interviewer: Why did you decide so?
Yokoyama: This is connected to what I mentioned earlier, but for Gaiden, I thought of Game Pass as a way of “handing overseas users our business card” – in other words, letting players new to the series enjoy the game and get to know Kiryu. Game Pass proved to be a very good method to invite new users to interact with the series.
While it is a shame that we won’t be seeing the game coming to Game Pass like with Gaiden, the director does also mention earlier in the interview that they are receiving a steady amount of pre-orders for Infinite Wealth, which is reassuring. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth’s story centers around Ichiban Kasuga, who wakes up on a beach without clothes. Details of the narrative are currently scarce, but players can look forward to returning protagonists Ichiban and Kiryu being dual protagonists.
Further, the title will be turn-based like the previous mainline outing, Yakuza: Like a Dragon. The game will feature Dondoko Island, a locale where players can develop their own house and partake in several slice-of-life activities akin to a simulation title.
