Life is Strange: True Colors and Life is Strange Remastered Collection Announced; Both Releasing in September

During today’s Square Enix Presentation, the developer and publisher announced the next upcoming entry in the Life is Strange series, Life is Strange: True Colors. Deck Nine developed Life is Strange Before the Storm. They also developed Neopets: The Darkest Faerie and several Cool Boarders titles when they were called As Idol Minds crazy.

This new entry in the acclaimed series follows new protagonist Alex Chen with her own unique set of powers. This power is a curse known as Empathy, a supernatural ability that allows her to experience, absorb and manipulate the strong emotions of others, which she sees as blazing, colored auras. Unfortunately for Alex, her brother dies in an “accident,” and she fuels her grief and curiosity towards finding out the truth behind the circumstances of his death.

Players will explore Haven Springs, with a soundtrack done by mxmtoon and Novo Amor and licensed songs, including Radiohead, Phoebe Bridgers, Gabrielle Aplin, and much more.

Jeff Litchford, the Vice President at Deck Nine Games, had this to say regarding this new title’s announcement:

“It has been such an honor to return to the vibrant, emotive, and impactful world of Life is Strange. We are delighted to share this new story with you: a story of empathy, human connection, and the struggle to find a place to call home. All of the advancements in storytelling, development technology, and premium voice acting that we have made since Life is Strange: Before the Storm will allow players to be more immersed in the compelling world of Life is Strange: True Colors than ever before.”

The company also announced that Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm will be packaged together in the upcoming Life is Strange Remastered Collection. This collection will boast improved animations and visuals.

Life is Strange Remastered Collection will be included in the Ultimate Edition of Life is Strange: True Colors, alongside its own standalone release.
