Liberated Shows Off Graphic Comic Book Style Gameplay in New Trailer

Walkabout Games has released nine minutes of gameplay from the Atomic Games-developed adventure Liberated, coming to Nintendo Switch and PC-via Steam and GOG in 2020.

The trailer highlights the main character, Barry Edwards, as he’s being taken to the headquarters of an insurgent group known as “Liberated.” Given that this is Barry’s first infiltration mission, both he and the player will have to learn how to get through this situation together. The gameplay shows seamless transitions between storytelling and gameplay, as players move through the level. There’s also a preview of the game’s stealth and shooting elements.

Liberated is set in the near-future, where the world seems to be powered by corporations, which has enabled new technology. Players will find themselves joining the fight against state-driven misinformation. Given that a revolution is brewing based on this new environment of surveillance and weaponized personal data, the player must draw the line between revolution and terrorism. Gameplay features moments of fast thinking, stealth, and action as players make their way to obtain the truth.

Liberated will be available to play during PAX East 2020 at the Indie Games Polska pavilion. Players will be able to get their hands on the game and experience its comic book style narrative.
