LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog Sets Announced; Eggman Threatens the LEGO Company

Sega and LEGO have announced that a LEGO set based on the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise is now in production. Accompanying this news was a genuinely well-crafted trailer with a ton of personality that broke the fourth wall.

The narrator abides by Sonic’s requests to make the LEGO set appear more appealing, eventually resulting in Sonic somehow manifesting near the narrator himself, potentially altering space-time. Afterward, the video concludes with Eggman incredibly upset that he was not included in the reveal advertisement. He then says that the LEGO company will regret this, which, well, could mean anything, honestly.

Sonic, Tails, and Amy have been introduced for this LEGO set, alongside a DJ stand, a chili dog, the speed sphere, and a loop to emphasize Sonic’s speed. Further, Tails’ workshop, Tornado plane, Amy’s Piko Piko hammer, and her animal rescue island are also featured.

The latest franchise video game outing, Sonic Frontiers, is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Sonic Frontiers features an “open-zone” gameplay style, where players will freely explore five distinct islands housing unique biomes, puzzles, enemies, and more. Combat is a direct focus this time, with several enemy types to best and a skill tree to peruse. Moreover, the Cyber Space levels provide some familiar speed-centric linearity veteran fans can embrace.

Sonic Origins Plus will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, on June 23, 2023.
