Legend of Mana Details Story Arcs and Pet and Golem Features With New Screenshots

Square Enix has shared new screenshots and details for the upcoming release of Legend of Mana on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on June 24, 2021.

The developer highlights the multiple story arcs that the player must complete in the game, but you’ll only need to complete one of them to technically finish the game. Still, there’s The Escad Story Arc; players will follow four childhood friends – Escad, Daena, Matilda, and Irwin – through the span of their friendships and encounter their conflicting motives in the wake of the Faerie Wars that took place over a decade prior.

Additionally, players will join Larc, dragoon of Drakonis in The Dragon Killer Arc, as he embarks on a mission to slay the Dragons of Knowledge and challenge another dragon named Sierra.

As players progress through the game, they will also be able to access the orchard in the secluded dell, which is inhabited by Trent – an ancient tree who can grow fruits and vegetables used to feed pets, paint golems, or alter equipment.

Players will gain access to exclusive equipment that can be forged at the Smithy. Raise monsters to join your team and fight with you. Pets can also be fed from the monster corral and sent to the Ring Ring Land mini-game to get stronger.

Golems will return where players can create Golem characters and imbue them with Mana to get stronger. Players can control a golem’s HP, stats, and equip them with over 50 different offensive and defensive abilities to help defeat enemies in battle.

Legend of Mana was initially released in 2000 on PlayStation as one of the few Mana titles introducing a few new gameplay elements to the series. Players can choose their own protagonist and carve out a unique adventure using puzzle pieces that they can place on an ever-growing map. The goal of the game is to complete three narratives as they make their way to the Mana trailer.

This version of the game will feature all of the gameplay found in the PlayStation release with additional options for re-arranged music, easier battles by turning off encounters, and a new mini-game now and ring-ring land which looks similar to a Tomagachi where players can take care of monsters.

Legend of Mana will be available digitally for $29.99 on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam. Customers who pre-order the title before June 23 on PlayStation 4 will receive ten avatars and a theme, and Steam pre-orders will grant customers a themed wallpaper.
