Left Alive Shows Gameplay From Perspective of Three Characters in New Trailer
Square Enix released a new trailer for their survival action shooter, Left Alive, coming to PlayStation and PC-via Steam in 2019.
The trailer provides details on Left Alive’s three main protagonists who each bring their own perspective to the game’s unraveling story. Players will learn about each character throughout their respective missions as they discover the path they take towards salvation.
Left Alive is a survival action shoot from director Toshifumi Nabeshima, of the Armored Core series, character designer Yoji Shinkawa from Kojima Productions, and mech designer Takayuki Yanase, who has worked on Xenoblade Chronicles X and Ghost in the Shell: Arise. These creators and more have joined together to tell a political and war filled story through the perspective of the aforementioned unnamed protagonists.
Set in the Front Mission universe, Left Alive features strategic gameplay features where players will be able to position characters and mechs to take on groups of enemies and missions. The game has customizable systems that allow players to utilize weapons and upgrades found on the battlefield from fallen enemies.

Author’s take: Being a part of the Front Mission universe, but not using the name Front Mission in the title tells me that Square Enix is serious about rebooting the IP and bringing it to a new generation of players. Sadly, the Front Mission series lost steam in the more recent entries of the series, but I’m eager to see where the series is going and jump into Left Alive if only to control some awesome looking mechs.
