Layers of Fears Revealed; New Story and Gameplay Direction Developed in Unreal Engine 5
During Summer Game Fest 2022, Bloober Team revealed their new survival-horror game to be Layers of Fear, a new title in the Layers of Fear series. The game is in-developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC for a 2023 release.
The publisher shared that this title will be built upon the foundations of Layers of Fear, LOF: Inheritance, and Layers of Fear 2 with a new story and gameplay direction. Further, the game is being created with Unreal Engine 5, with support for Ray Tracing, HDR effect, 4K resolution, and will make use of the Lumen system to offer the most immersive and visceral horror experience.
The developer shared, “Layers of Fears will be the complete, definitive and at the same time unpredictable way to discover the stories of artists enslaved by their obsessions. Prepare for an exquisite horror experience thanks to the expanded plot lines that will cast a new light on the overarching narrative.”
Layers of Fear 2 initially launched in 2019 as a first-person horror adventure. The game is a story-driven exploration title where players discover the past of the character they play as. Uncovering this past opens a few wounds, but while you do this, strange things begin to happen around you.
