Latest Layers of Fear Project Teased in Spooky New Trailer; Unreal Engine 5

Polish developer Bloober Team has dropped a new teaser trailer for their upcoming Layers of Fear project, built using Unreal Engine 5.

Bloober Team is known for their works in the horror genre, most notably with Blair Witch, Observer: System Redux, and The Medium. This will be the third installment into the Layers of Fear franchise, with the first game released in 2016 and the second game released in 2019. The Layers of Fear games are first-person psychological horror experiences that heavily focus on storytelling, puzzle-solving, and exploration.

The trailer doesn’t reveal too much information. It showcases a painter with an empty canvas, very reminiscent of the first Layers of Fear. The painter is haunted by a mysterious voice that tells him to “finish what he started.” The fluidity of the paint’s movements in the trailer emphasizes the powerful capabilities of Unreal Engine 5.

Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babiebo explains that the team has “two other projects in the works, one in production and one in pre-production.”

We will be sure to cover any additional news on the new Layers of Fear game. Currently, it has no specific release date other than a release window of 2022.
