Visual Novel Developer Laplacian to “Move On” From Adult Game Development; Cyanotype Daydream All-Ages Version Only to Release in the West

Visual Novel developer Laplacian made a few announcements for global fans of their visual novels.

First off, the developer has chosen to move on from developing adult games. After the studio has made a name for themselves within the community for their romance visual novels The Future Radio and the Artificial Pigeons and Newton and the Apple Tree, it seems like their most recent work Hakuchuumu no Aojashin, will only receive an adult release in Japan.

The studio revealed that the visual novel will coming west to PC-via Steam titled Cyanotype Daydream and will only feature all-ages content. It was also mentioned that there will not be an off-site patch available and that this was a choice made by the company as a whole. This international version will have updated HD graphics, new script additions, new CGs, and two bonus episodes per route providing a total of 8 bonus episodes throughout the game.

It should be noted that this is the first time that Cyanotype Daydream has been announced as a western release, and the publisher has not been revealed at this time. The PC release will support Japanese, English, and Chinese text options.

We’ll be sure to continue to cover announcements from Laplacian, but let us know how you feel about their statement in the comments below.
