Dark Fantasy Visual Novel ‘Kuroinu Redux’ Releases in the West With an Updated Translation and New Content
Shiravune announced that the Liquid-developed dark fantasy visual novel Kuroinu Redux is available now in the West on PC via Steam and Johren.
This is a new translation of an updated version of the first game in the acclaimed series, containing both visual improvements and new content relative to both the 2010 original and prior English releases.
Kuroinu Redux is a 2-hour long story about a mercenary who betrays the allies who sent him into battle. The story takes place in Eos, the western plains of the continent of Serenus. The Dark-elven queen’s influence is waning, given that the centuries-long war between the allied races and her demon army is coming to an end.
In a desperate attempt to end the bloodshed, the Seven Shields Alliance—seven strongholds along Eos’s northernmost border united by an elven reincarnation of the Goddess Larentia—seek out the assistance of the protagonist Vult and his Black Dog Mercenaries.
However, the young Vult wastes no time in betraying them, moving his headquarters to the realm of the dark elf Queen Olga herself.
The Steam version features the all-ages release, while the Johren release includes adult content. There’s also a free patch available for those who want it.
We’ll keep you updated on future releases from the publisher.
