The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki English Fan Translation Spreadsheet Arriving April

Fan translation group, ZeroField, has announced that they have concluded their work on the highly anticipated The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki English translation spreadsheet. For overseas fans yearning to play this Trails entry in English before it gets localized in the future, this is assuredly the ideal avenue to do so. Credit to MilliumMan, Kitsune, and the rest of the team for tackling and completing this extensive, noteworthy fan effort.

This fan-translation spreadsheet boasts the following inclusions:

  • Full main scenario translation
  • Translation for all optional sidequests
  • Translation for all optional events, including:
    • Connect Events
    • Film Events, both day and night
    • Intermission Events
  • Translation of all optional dialogue branches
  • A large number of translated NPCs, including both major and minor characters

In addition to the spreadsheet’s full release on April 4, 2022, a convenient overlay program will be useable to view the translated text on-screen. Further, a demo version of the spreadsheet and overlay, covering the game up to Chapter 1’s finale, will be made available in the near future. Check out the full announcement post on ZeroField’s website for more information.

Also of note is that members of this team have translated an in-game novel present in Hajimari no Kiseki (Trails into Reverie) titled Shunran the Sharpshooter. While we’ll be seeing this 17 chapter novel officially translated with Reverie’s western localization next year, it’s neat and appreciated to see a qualitative version of it conveniently available from fans, for fans.

A tutorial video on how to utilize the overlay program with this upcoming spreadsheet was provided, viewable below:

The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki is currently available in Japan for PlayStation 4.

The next localized entry for the franchise will be Trails from Zero.

Trails from Zero has players take control of protagonist Lloyd Bannings and the rest of the Special Support Section as they aid the citizens of Crossbell City with various tasks and gradually uncover a deep-seated corruption at the heart of the city with criminality at its core.

Alongside the strategical turn-based combat fans have expected from the series, the addition of cooperative attacks with party members makes the bonds between the Special Support Section an active ingredient in combat potential. This release boasts a High-Speed mode, which prior localized Trails entries contain. This functionality allows players to speed past cutscenes, combat, and exploration for whatever reasons they deem fit.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero is releasing for Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via the Epic Games Store and Steam on September 27, 2022.
