Konami Will Continue To Sell NFTs For Foreseeable Future

Konami has released their latest consolidated financial results report, providing overviews on the results of several of their projects and projected outcomes. Perhaps most notably mentioned within this report as simply a single sentence regarding Digital Entertainment is the following:

“We will also be selling Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) in an effort to preserve content that has been loved by our customers as commemroative art.”

In case you missed it, Konami began auctioning NFTs for Castlevania last month to celebrate the franchise’s 35-year anniversary. This has been met with expected disapproval from fans, so hopefully, these efforts from Konami cease at one point or another.

This collection includes Castlevania: Circle of the MoonCastlevania: Harmony of DissonanceCastlevania: Aria of Sorrow, and Castlevania: Dracula X. The developer of the collection is M2. The company is known for working on many projects emulating older titles, having also worked on the Virtual Console and Sega Ages re-releases. In addition, they’ve also worked on the Castlevania Anniversary Collection and Contra Anniversary Collection.
