Klonoa & Huepow Nendoroid Officially Announced

Figure retailer Max Factory has announced that a Nendoroid depicting Klonoa and his best friend Huepow is currently in development, with plans to showcase it at the Smile Festival Japan on August 6, and August 7, 2022. Currently, only a prototype version of the figure is viewable, and no pricing or release window is expected yet.

Regardless, I’m quite thrilled to see Klonoa receive official merchandise in this capacity since he’s one of my favorite platforming mascots. Here’s hoping the recent release of Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series sells well. You can also expect a review from us soon. Spoiler alert, it’s pretty good.

This compilation includes the first 2 games of the franchise, Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil. These titles are classic platformers, where players control the protagonist Klonoa traversing a myriad of environmental and enemy obstacles.

Further, these titles have been long rumored to be arriving as remasters due to several trademarks by Bandai Namco over the past year. We’re excited to replay these entries in a more modernized light.

The compilation contains Easy and Hard difficulties, with the latter only unlocking after the game has been cleared once. Tutorials are optional so they can be pursued or ignored. 2-player support will also be possible via cooperative play. Lastly of note is Stopwatch Mode, which is highly implied to be akin to a Time Attack-esque feature where players race against the clock and complete stages as quickly as possible.

Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series is now available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on July 8, 2022, and for PC via Steam.
