Inti Creates has announced that a free demo of its upcoming 2D action and strategy hybrid game Kingdom’s Return: Time-Eating Fruit and the Ancient Monster will be released for Switch on March 19, 2026.
The final gameplay trailer is also live, showcasing Zipangu, a duel-blade wielder who’s a glass cannon with invincible dodges and swiftness.
In Kingdom’s Return: Time-Eating Fruit and the Ancient Monster, players will control a lone adventurer who teams up with Chronos, the Fairy of Time, to rebuild the fallen kingdom of Almacia and learn about its destruction.
The title comprises side-scrolling action stages with a kingdom-rebuilding system. Materials gathered during exploration can be used to construct buildings that enhance character stats.
Four playable characters have distinct playstyles: Imperial, a close-range fighter with strong defense and counter abilities; Alchemist, who specializes in elemental bottles and status effects; Wizard, a long-range spellcaster with powerful magic but low durability; and Zipangu, a fast attacker who relies on precise dodging and rapid strikes.
Kingdom’s Return: Time-Eating Fruit and the Ancient Monster will be released on April 23, 2026, for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
